Goodies in the post.......

These gorgeous goodies arrived in the post on Saturday:
A gift from Karol-Ann, thank you so much KA:-). A handmade card, a super little coin purse (perfect for holidays), Some very pretty fabric squares (these will make lovely tiny log cabin blocks), and some weighty table cloth clips - everything in my favourite colours - what a thoughtful friend.

I had just about time to unwrap them before I found out that Himself and I were going on a long weekend in London to celebrate my Birthday. Lanky Boy and the Whizz Kid came over with a huge bouquet of flowers, cards and gifts. Then via a (crackly) Skype we talked to Chic Girl over in Spain. More gifts were given to me including a big mirrored trinket box containing tickets to the cinema and to see various exhibitions. Chic Girl then told me to look under my keyboard where the Whizz Kid had hidden details for a hotel reservation at The Hoxton Hotel (an uber chic, 'urban lodge'). I then had a short while to pack my bag......
The hotel proved to be just our sort of place - very informal, yet luxurious where it mattered. The staff were all wonderful, relaxed and yet efficient. We knew we had arrived much too early to check in, so we expected to only drop off our suitcase, but were pleasantly surprised when we were given our room immediately. And very comfy it was too - flat screen tv, power shower, blackout curtains, room controlled air con/heating, free wifi, an hours complimentary phone calls, a mini bar with fresh milk and bottles of water, both complimentary (booze and sweeties were available in the 24 hour reception at supermarket prices rather than hotel prices) complimentary daily and evening newspapers, Aveda toiletries, duck down duvet, fresh coffee as well as various teas to brew up and they deliver a complimentary Pret a Manger mini breakfast to your room in the morning when you want it. All included in the room price. Superb. At the end of our stay we could not find a single fault with them. We will use them again.
The lounge area:
Subtly etched wall art in our room:Huge cushions on our bed:And finally, an invitation to take the soap home! (We didn't):
