It's HUGE, It's green....

I think it might be an alien, No?

Am I overreacting?

but you must agree it is huge.
I wonder what it will grow into.........

Book Shopping

Today I bought some books that were heavily reduced in price, our local Borders has sold out to 'New Look'. It's a sad day.......

I bought this purely for the cute pictures - and the thought that one day I might be able to follow a knitting pattern successfully (so far I have knitted scarves and a couple of pairs of gloves)
I thought this looked interesting......
Coz I really need another recipe book don't I?!
Japanese little tiny critters, all made from felt.

Plus a whole stack of other books that were only a £1 each:-) I expect Chip Girl will pinch most of them.

Sadly they had just cleared away all the magazines - what a shame, I used to love browsing and buying different magazines. Cd's and Dvd's I never bought in Borders they were always so much more expensive than anywhere else.

BOM so far

I started the Bunny Hill BOM way back in January and after trying out a couple of blocks using black embroidery thread,

then crimson red
I finally settled on shades of blue and am happy.
January:February:
March: April:
May: June:
July:
Some of the blocks have not been pressed yet, which is why they are a bit creased.
I'm going to make the sashing and borders of this quilt using the shirting fabrics that I have been collecting.

I 'heart' Greengate.

My beautiful Greengate latte cup, sugar pot and spoon - all bought at Lily Blue. I keep looking at the bowl and plates and wondering if I can justify ordering them too...........

Sofa throw

Here is a pinwheel block throw for our sofa. Making use of some more of my vintage white cotton, but mixed in with some modern 'Moda' fabric I bought at the Malvern Quilt show in May.

I still have a couple of vintage white bed sheets I could use , but am reluctant to mix those in with patchwork weight fabrics as they are a different weight. I really need to quilt up some and see how it turns out..... Maybe they will just be used as backing fabrics.

Just keep sewing, just keep sewing....

I do love making up small squares. These are all finished size 1 1/2"

I free machine quilt all the white squares.
I made a cushion with some simple houses and trees embroidered on vintage Irish linen....

and a tea cosy with a scrap of polka dot upholstery linen...
