Hexagon love

I'm still really enjoying making these small hexagons......
Here are some using batik fabrics:
Here are the backs, I used a black (Superior Threads - 'Masterpiece') thread on these, with such tiny stitches - the light needs to be good or no chance of seeing what I'm doing!

BQL 2011 Challenge

I've set the BQL members a challenge for this year and that's to have a series of quilt swaps called the BQL Skinny Quilt challenge.

The first swap is for January and February and we each have to make a quilt aprroximatly A3 size. Each person then has to upload a photo of their quilt on BQL and at the end of February, send me a list of their five favourites, I shall then sort it out so every particpant gets a quilt from their list. I was surprised firstly at how many folk took up the challenge and how many have already made their quilts.  Only BQL members are allowed to view the quilts, but there are some really super little quilts I have already earmarked at least ten quilts I would love to own and not everyone has finished adding the quilts, I can see this is going to be hard. Hopefully someone will put my quilt on their list, or I don't get a chance to swap. Here is my quilt and a close up:

Finally, a new post!

Ahem, yes, sorry it's been so long.......
I have been busy..... although I must admit sewing has not played a very big part in my life for a few months:-( But I'm over my 'dry patch' now and raring to go. I bought a Jelly Roll (Bliss - by Bonnie & Camille.)
I decided to do a few small* hexagons, never having made any before, I printed off a couple of sheets of printed hexagons, here's what I made:
 Then a few more:
These are the 'rejects' I didn't like them in the mix:

* each flat side is just under an inch long

I have no idea what to do with all the hexagons, but I do enjoy making them and have continued to sew more as they are nice to do in the evenings while watching TV, the piles of patches are growing.
Erm, I could do with some ideas of what to do with them please....
